Meet The Inspiration
Halo entered the world far earlier than expected, carrying more battles than any newborn should. She was born with spina bifida myelomeningocele, hydrocephalus, Chiari malformation II, hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy, laryngomalacia, and global developmental delays. Her first seven months were spent in the NICU, undergoing more than ten surgeries before she ever saw home.
But Halo is more than her diagnoses. She is joy. She is resilience. She is the spark behind this entire resource hub. Halo is five years old, laughing, learning, and proving every day that medically complex children are capable of incredible things.
She’s grown because of the very services, therapies, equipment, and community support you’ll find throughout this resource hub. She is living proof that early help, compassionate providers, and a determined family can change a child’s entire story.
Halo is the reason this space exists.
And as her mother, I want you to feel encouraged. I want you to feel seen. I want you to know you’re not walking this road alone.

Who We Are
We are parents, caregivers, and advocates who have sat in the same waiting rooms, filed the same paperwork, and felt the same overwhelm that you feel right now. Halo’s Hands was born out of necessity because we looked around and realized that while the medical system takes care of the child, nobody was taking care of the parent. We are based in Fort Wayne, Indiana and proudly serve Allen County families. Every resource, every provider, and every program listed on this site has been personally researched and vetted with one goal in mind — to make your life a little easier today than it was yesterday. This is more than a website. This is a community. And we are so glad you found us.
Our Mission
Halo’s Hands exists to support the primary caregivers of medically fragile and special needs children in Allen County. While the medical system is built around the child, the parent is the foundation that makes every therapy, every appointment, and every hard day possible. Our mission is to protect that foundation - and to build a Fort Wayne where every caregiver has the resources, support, and community they need to thrive, not just survive.
We do this by providing:
• Practical resources — vetted local providers, benefits navigation, and connections to equipment and adaptive device resources that cut through the confusion
• Financial navigation — connecting families to grants, assistance programs, and legal planning tools that ease the financial burden of caregiving
• Community and connection — a space where no parent has to navigate this alone.
